CamTran has provided the following update about the refurbishment of Johnstown’s beloved landmark, the Inclined Plane.
The rehabilitation project will started on Monday, February 28, 2022. The project is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2023.
There will be detours in place during the rehabilitation project which will direct motorists around Edgehill Drive as it will be closed. The planned closure along Edgehill Drive will be in effect from the entrance of the Visitor’s Center to Erie Street beginning on Monday, February 28, 2022. This street closure will be in effect throughout the rehabilitation project.
During the rehabilitation project the Inclined Plane will remain closed for riders and commuters until Spring of 2023. The Inclined Plane Gift Shop, Ice Cream Shop, Observation Deck and the hillside hiking and biking trails will also remain closed until Spring 2023.

The Visitor’s Center as well as Asiago’s Tuscan Italian Restaurant will remain open during the rehabilitation project.
Asiago’s Tuscan Italian Restaurant will be open on the following days and times:
Tuesday thru Thursday 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Friday 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Saturday 11:30 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Sunday 11:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Patrons visiting the Visitor’s Center as well as Asiago’s Tuscan Italian Restaurant can park from the corner of Tioga Street and Edgehill drive until the banquet entrance of the restaurant. Patrons can also park along Greene Street. We would like to thank you for your patience as we start and work through this extremely important community project.
